Like a motherless child,
Like a groom-less bride,

Like the spring without its breeze,
Like the beach without its seas,

Like a moonless night,
Like a heartless knight,

Like bare skin in the cold,
Like an ember’s hold,

Like an agonizing shriek,
Like torturing the weak,

Like an old man’s afflictive death,
Like a child’s last breath,

Like a loveless wife,
Like a friendless life,

Life without you my friend,
Is like the bitter end.
